Amie has been part of the ELA Group since February 2019. Before joining ELA she worked with an online distance learning college where she taught and trained teaching assistants. Her area of specialism is Early Years and Support Teaching and Learning. What she likes most about her job is the variety of people she meets and the opportunity to teach people new skills.
The quality that she is known for is her understanding and ability to approach every situation with an open mind and determination to help. An example of this is in more than one situation, where she has supported learners in finding employment, in finding counselling for personal issues and in helping them to find discounted books and resources to help them to complete their course. She aims to work hard to help learners to achieve what they set out to do by finding alternative ways to present work.
Her funniest moment in assessing is when a baby she was observing during messy play came up to her and covered her in shaving foam.
Her most memorable moment from the days when she was in schooling was performing in the school musicals in front of her family.
If she had to put what assessing and training means to her in 3 words, those words would be Inspiring, diversity, achievement.
A fun fact about her is that she only just learnt to ride a bike!
