Tom has been part of ELA since Monday the 15th of July. Before joining ELA he worked at The Skills Network. His area of interest is Early Years Life Skills. What he likes most about his job is that it is about helping new learners to complete their course and to develop into better teachers.
The quality that he is known for is patience. Examples of this are when he helps learners to complete their course by using their preferred learning styles.
His funniest moment in assessing was when he met a learner who took on the Early Years course and thought that it was just about being observed working with children. They had no idea of the Job Training or Functional Skills requirement.
His most memorable time from the days when he was in schooling, his entire time at Boarding school as he had fun all the time and the experience gave him the life skills and friends for life.
If he had to put what assessing and training means to him in 3 words, those words would be Development, Skills and Fun.
A fun fact about him is that he enjoys watching my football team. Come on Brentford!
